Bakewell Primary School Students Awarded Third Prize in National Chinese Bridge Competition

Palmerston, NT, 19 June 2026 — Bakewell Primary School is proud to announce that Year [insert year level] students Charlotte Cardow and Xavier Vanos have been awarded Third Prize in the 2026 Chinese Bridge Competition for Primary School Students, a prestigious national Mandarin language and cultural proficiency competition.

The Chinese Bridge Competition is held annually across Australia and challenges students to demonstrate their Mandarin language skills, cultural knowledge, and performance abilities. This year’s competition saw entries from hundreds of students representing schools nationwide.

Under the guidance of Bakewell Primary School’s Mandarin teacher Ms Xin Shi, Charlotte and Xavier dedicated months of preparation to develop their language proficiency and cultural presentations. Their achievement places them among the top-performing students in the country and highlights the strength of language education at Bakewell Primary School.
